Rental Inspection Form - What is it used for?

A Rental Inspection Form, also know as a Move-In/Move-Out Inspection Form, can be used by landlords and property managers to document the condition of the rental property before and after a tenant has moved out. Ideally you should do an inspection 4 times - (1) before the tenant has moved in, (2) after the tenant has moved in, (3) before the tenant has moved out, and (4) after the tenant has moved out. If the tenant stays in the rental unit for multiple years, it's also a good idea to do an annual inspection. This will provide you with plenty of evidence in case you need to keep any portion of the tenant's security deposit.
